Lady Dai - Changsha, China
The body of Xin Zhui (or Lady Dai), the wife of a Han Dynasty chancellor, was found in Changsha, China. It was so well preserved that scientists were able to carry out an autopsy, while blood remained in her veins. Her corpse is on display at the Hunan Provincial Museum.

The tomb of Vladimir Lenin reopened this week following a renovation.
Upon the revolutionary leader's death in 1924, the tomb was immediately erected in Moscow’s Red Square. While the makeshift wooden structure was later replaced by one of stone, the man inside is remarkably little-changed, looking healthy (for his age) – the result of clever embalming and injections of mysterious 'balsam'.

Kim Jong Il - North Korea
The former ruler, who died in December 2011, was seen by a group of Western tourists for the first time earlier this year at the recently reopened Kumsusan Palace of the Sun in the capital city of Pyongyang. He is displayed dressed in his trademark army uniform, covered in a red sheet, alongside his favourite platform shoes, sunglasses, and Apple Macbook Pro laptop he is thought to have been using when he suffered a fatal heart attack.
His mausoleum also contains a car, yacht, and the train carriage in which he is believed to have died.
